I can't believe this/that/the happened/occurred/took place. I was so naive/stupid/gullible, thinking he/she/they were legit/for real/the real deal. Now I'm broke/flat broke/totally screwed, thanks to their/his/her deceitful/manipulative/lying ways.
It all started when I met/I saw/I came across an ad/a post/a message about this amazing opportunity/a sure thing/a get-rich-quick scheme. I was so excited/I couldn't believe my luck/I felt like I had won the lottery.
Of course, it all turned out to be a hoax/lie/scam. They took all of my money/every last cent/everything I had and now I don't even know what to do.
